Started this morning early and it's now after 1am and I just got a chance to sit down. Directv, Time Warner (internet), Lowes and Sears all showed around the same time. It was crazy trying to juggle everyone of them. Thanks to the delivery guy from Lowes who gave me a free water line for the ice maker hookup that saved me $40.
We bought a Craftsman belt driven garage door opener that does just about everything but start the car for you. I recommend to everyone a belt driven opener. This is so quiet you cannot hear it in the master bedroom or even the kitchen. It also has a automatic close option and a cell phone app that will allow you to open and close the door from anywhere. It was around $289 but it comes with peace and quiet.
I love my new home and very pleased with the job they've done building it! I can't wait to have everything done. For now I'm going to drag myself upstairs and sleep sleep sleep!
Congrats on moving in! I'm sure it's been stressful, but soon you'll be settled in and enjoying your beautiful home. Can't wait to see moving pics and hope you'll continue to post as time goes on. Thanks for sharing your experience!
ReplyDeleteI really wanted to install my own garage door opener but I caved and think I'll let them do it. There will be so many things going on those first few weeks that it will be one less thing to have to worry about...
ReplyDeleteDid you install it yourself or have someone else do it?
Lazybones we had sears install it. Make sure you get a belt driven. You won't believe how quiet they are.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you! Sounds like you worked your tail off yesterday.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got a better garage door opener - for less money - than Ryan offers. Good for you!
I didn't even know they offered one. Our neighbors in my old neighborhood had a belt drive and swore by it. Now I know why lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat effort guys! Luckily, we have some time after closing before our lease ends so were going to try a staggered move with our car/suv and just leave huge items to movers...of course that "the plan" which we know always work as expected, lol -- Ericka
ReplyDeleteEricka - we did it that way. Moved some of the stuff ourselves and left just the big items for the movers.
ReplyDeleteThe movers "Two Men and a Truck" tore up my walls on the staircase leading up the stairs and splintered the wood railing and broke the wood off my armoire. I would never recommend them to anyone at this point.
ReplyDeleteThats who we were looking at using! Hmm or was it Two GUYS and a truck, now Im not so sure. Guess I definitely need to check that out! --Ericka
DeleteThey agreed to fix everything and replace what they couldn't fix. Very happy with the outcome. PM was a great help in this situation.
