Let The Build Begin

They dug out part of our lot today and will finish tomorrow.  While we were there the city inspector came to sign off on the utility connections (storm drains and sewer connection). He walked the property and talked with the guys from the excavating company. Once he approved everything he came over introduced himself and asked if we were the new owners. He  then explained why he was there and what to expect in the next few days. One of the guys from the excavating company also introduced himself and explained what he was doing today. All in all it turned out to be a very nice day to see the process start to take shape.

We also took a drive out to Avon and visited the Ravenna model out there. It does't hold a candle to the North Royalton Ravenna model. I didn't like the cabinet choice along with the choice in wood floors. Color wise it just didn't seem to match (pictures to follow). It just didn't show well for me in many ways. I also didn't care for the master bath tile, cabinet and granite choices.

We also drove to another community to see our siding color choice. It's a new color for Ryan Homes (per our sales rep) in this area and not too many people have chosen it yet. I was very nervous but once we saw it on a house and knowing the shutter and door color along with the stone we picked I think I made a good choice.

Very hard to tell from the picture above but it's a maple spice cabinet with a cherry oak flooring.

  1. We considered the Ravenna model before deciding on the Verona. We never bothered to see the Avon model since it didn't have the bonus room and we were definitely adding that. The North Royalton model is very nicely done. After seeing your pic from the Avon model, I'm glad we didn't bother!

  3. We are building in Timber Ridge in North Ridgeville. We are currently contingent, but are hoping to flip to a sale very soon. In the meantime, I live vicariously though the blogs!
